From the user standpoint, I don’t think I could be any happier. There is nothing we would change. At the end of the day, 100% of the charts are complete.” Nancy, Practice Manager

TRANSITIONING TO THE CLOUD:

After practicing podiatric medicine for more than 25 years, Dr. Maurice Levy knew it was time for an EHR system. Determined to get an early lead on avoiding penalties from Medicare, attesting to meaningful use and to collecting the maximum incentives, Dr. Levy and his practice manager, Nancy, identified their top requirements. Most importantly, they wanted a cloud-based application to eliminate the stress and distraction of maintaining on-site servers. Next, they needed a product that was flexible and allowed for physician customization. Finally, they needed a comprehensive support program that included training. Their search was not difficult or lengthy. In fact, it was already unfolding from the strong ten year relationship with AssuranceMD.

EXCEPTIONAL TRAINING AND SEAMLESS INTEGRATION:

Dr. Levy signed with AssuranceMD to integrate Aprima EHR into their podiatry practice. Their practice management software had already been successfully transitioned to AssuranceMD’s cloud-based services. Based on the consistent and comprehensive support track record over the past ten years, they were confident that the PM & EHR interfacing applications and implementation would cause little disruption to their practice.
Dr. Levy and staff were excited about the unique approach of a gradual implementation. They did not want to reduce patient scheduling to accommodate training time and back office adjustments.
AssuranceMD’s implementation specialist Dr. Megan Woerth provided the necessary flexibility to work around the physician’s schedule ensuring the least amount of disruption to his patient visits. Web-based training helped to maximize available down time outside of practice hours. Installation, integration and training were smooth, gradual and comprehensive.
According to Nancy, “Dr. Levy now creates better notes, his writing is more routine and legibility is no longer a challenge.” She relies heavily on the reporting function, especially the ability to correct a chart prior to completing the notes. There is a significant time saving advantage when printing charts for patient requests, Medicare Advantage or lawyer’s offices. “We can print them out with a click of a button,” she notes.

IMPROVED EFFICIENCY:

The Aprima EHR implementation was a success. “I am more confident and more proficient due to the training I received said Levy. Dr. Woerth assisted with the database set and modifications along with the client’s guidance. It lightened their load without losing patient time and enabled them to get the back-office in place and ready to use. Both Dr. Levy and Nancy are proficient with using the platform and are happy that they attested to Meaningful Use Stage 1 in a timely fashion and are now positioned to attest to MU2. Improved efficiency of comprehensive patient chart has been an added bonus and improvement to their practice. “From the standpoint of using the EHR, I don’t think I could be happier” says Nancy. “There is nothing we would change and with each new requirement, the learning curve becomes much smaller.”
